uma análise crítica das normas API 610, ASME B73.1 e ISO 5199

Centrifugal pump, Specification, API 610Abstract
The global reference of requirements for the design and performance of centrifugal pumps used in the oil and gas industry is API 610. However the high cost acquisition of an API pump added its questionable applicability in certain services has led pump users to constantly evaluate the use of this standard. Parallel to API 610 there are two important renowned standards in the industry that are used in the specification of centrifugal pumps: ASME B73.1 and ISO 5199. These standards, although not as rigorous in their requirements when compared to API 610, have been shown suitable for certain applications. Based on a comparative analysis of the main requirements of these standards and the identification of a criteria for non-API pumps application, this work aims to supply the pump user with information that allows him to define the best technical and economical alternative for his pumping service, besides breaking the paradigm that all pumps used in the oil and gas industry should comply with API 610.
