In the retrieval of lines without connectors, lifting tools have been used to enable the recovery of extremities and proper retrieval. In many cases, for opening connections or making cuts in TDP regions, temporary anchoring becomes necessary, usually performed with weights that are then lashed to the line intended for anchoring, thus maintaining its position and preventing its "slippage" toward the Platform. In this scenario, the present work presents the undertaking carried out to use the lifting tool also as temporary anchoring for the line, that is, providing a second and new use for the tool already habitually used. Such development had as its application focus the pull-out campaign of FPSO Cidade de Niterói. There was a first phase of Opportunity Identification, followed by Planning where analysis involving various areas took place, reaching the positive result that indicated application feasibility within a given operational envelope comprising 8 umbilicals. During operations planning, it was identified that this solution would reduce the typical scope from 7 operational steps to a new scope of 3 operational steps. With this, savings of approximately 58% in the total value initially estimated for the pull outs of the 8 UEHs were verified, as well as a reduction of approximately 50% in the total CO2 equivalent emitted, compared to the typical scenario. It should be highlighted that the solution is scalable, having the potential to be extended to other Projects in Petrobras' Portfolio, thus leveraging and capturing even more significant gains for the Company.
